Once a Cougar, Always a Cougar.

As most of you know, I attended BYU and was on the cheer team there. There are not words to describe what an amazing experience that was. It was truely a once in a life time opportunity. I remember my coach telling us to enjoy this while we can. She was right. Looking back now, I miss it more than ever.

Practices for cheer were not optional. Everday I would wake up at 6:30, roll out of bed, grab my stuff for the day, and head to the gymnastics gym for 7am practice. I have to admit I don't miss making my body run, strech, jump, lift, and flip that early. I do miss everything else about it though.

I miss my team.
I miss being flexible.
I miss being able to do a flip whenever I want without the fear of landing on my face.
I miss cheering at BYU sporting events.
I miss big bows.
I miss talking with 30 girls everyday about their lives.
I miss the pump up music.
I miss wearing sweats everyday, and i really do mean EVERYDAY.
I miss trying to put on fake eyelashes everygame.
I miss performing with my team.
 I miss running hills.
I miss long plane rides with my girls.
I miss winning national titles with my team.
I miss Cosmo.
I miss it all.

GO COUGS!

Just in case you missed it this past year. Here's our performance. National Champs 2012 :)

So here's to my years as a BYU Cheerleader. I miss everything about it. I am officially a "has been" but I don't even care. It was unreal and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Zoo Lights

This weekend we went to ZOO LIGHTS! First of all just let me say, if you have never been to the Zoo Lights, you need to go. What is better than the joy of Christmas at the zoo?
Nothing.

Aust and I went to Zoo lights last Christmas at the Oregon Zoo. I always tell him that is when I knew I loved him. Christmas time :) It may or may not have taken him a little longer to realize that he loved and wanted to marry me. He was worth the wait though.

Yay Love!

On to this year's adventure at the Zoo. We saw elephants, leopards, sea lions, monkeys, snakes, turtles, and even alligators! I also got to see my long lost friend Abby, who I see about once every 345,643,534 days. I'm obviously not bitter. Kidding. Love you Abbs :)

I think we'll make this Zoo Lights thing a tradition in the Cornilles family.

Enjoy!

Sorry about the crazy eyes...

Tigers!

This HAD to happen.

Christmas card?

House Hunters Cornilles Style

Since becoming newlyweds, one of our favorite activities is looking at houses. Our new hobby is really a virtual pursuit. Of course 98% of the homes we are browsing online are more expensive than our parent's houses, and completely out of our price range. Actually, 100% of homes are out of our price range right now. Maybe one day.......

Anyway, the point I was trying to make is looking at houses is fun. REALLY fun.  A beautiful updated kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, cherry oak cupboards, a brilliant backsplash.... ahhh I'm getting excited just talking about it! For you visual learners out there.... (Random kitchen that I found on google images. Amazing right?)

Coupled with our new fake house pursuit. I can't get enough of this HGTV stuff. Don't judge me until you've watched it. My top three fav shows consist of House Hunters, Property Brothers, and Love it or List it. I used to make fun of my mom for watching this "garbage." Like mother like daughter.

The only problem with this new obsession of ours is the fact that we really won't be purchasing a house for a while. And our first kitchen will most definitely not look like that ^^^. So for now we will keep watching HGTV and looking at beautiful homes that we can't afford. A girl can dream right?

Also, here's my plug for work. If you are looking to buy or sell a house in Utah County let me know! I work for an awesome agent that has tons of experience in buying and selling real estate in this area.

Contact Dan Kennedy Real Estate Team here. Or feel free to browse homes, like me, on his website UtahHomeHub.com

The Return of Elder Russell

Guess what?? Elder Marcus Russell comes home TODAY!!! My amazing little brother has been serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the past two years. He has been in the blazing heat of Tempe, AZ.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to see him until we head home for Christmas. I am so so so so so excited for him to be back though! Here's a little preview of what he's been up to for the past two years.

This is right before he went into the MTC. I got to take him in. He was cool, calm, and collected until we pulled into the parking lot. He then said, "I'm scared." It's at that moment when my older sister/motherly instincts kicked in. I knew he would be okay though, more than okay actually. I knew he would be amazing.

Just look at him!

What a stud.

Love him.

Excerpt from his last email:
"I had my departing interview with President Howes yesterday and it was strange because he was talking about school and careers and marriage and I was like whoa I can't be thinking/talking about this stuff I'M STILL A MISSIONARY! hahaha... Well hope all is well see you tomorrow!!"
Marriage? Careers? What?! Ahhhh he's growing up so fast!
I can't wait for what the future holds for him.

It's about time.

Okay, so I have been married for a good five months now and I'm not blogging? Like really, what kind of Mormon girl am I? Well here I am world. I'm for real this time. I'm jumping into the blogging world with little to no experience. As my current five followers know, I tried it once. It was well.... not great. I'm trying again though! Here's my disclaimer:

I'm no expert on fashion, I didn't major in english, I don't cook or bake mouthwatering delicacies, and my life is by no means a fairytale. I can tell you this though...

I am a twenty-three year old BYU Alum that lives in Springville, UT.
Marrying my husband, Austin, was the best decision I've ever made.
I love chips, cheddar & sour cream to be exact.
Summer is my favorite season, solely because of the existence of wakeboarding.
Winter is a close second (when I have $ for snowboarding).
My favorite color is royal purple.

Oh and here's the thing... I'm going to spell things wrong. My punctuation is awful. No need to inform me of these things.

With all that said, here I am! I look forward to just being Callie, and documenting my relatively new life as a married woman.
