June & July: The Infinite Atonement

It's August... I know. WHOOPS! I have been SLACKING these last two months with my studies. We were traveling a bunch in June, and I never really got around to picking a specific topic to study. All excuses aside, I'm going to do better this next month.

I have been reading the book "The Infinite Atonement" off and on. I made an effort to finish it in the last month or so. Previously, I studied the Atonement of Christ in depth. This book turned out to be an extension of that learning. I want to share a few of my favorite quotes/ideas from the book.

Understanding the Atonement:
The Atonement is so far reaching and comprehensive, sometimes it's overwhelming. Occasionally it seems easier to give up trying to understand and just have faith instead. The following story was motivation to never give up trying, studying, and learning.

The Reach of the Atonement:
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the best news anyone could ever hear. As long as we are willing to repent and do the work, we're going to be okay.

Covenants:
The Savior made the promise or covenant to complete the Atonement long before he came to earth. The power of that covenant and the covenants we make today hold real power in our lives.

Leadership:
I love that we can look to Christ as the perfect example for everything. This little snippet about leadership is perfect.

I'm getting back on track for August and studying service. Be on the look out!
